I've been heads down on https://t.co/GxybMLtZ42.
Added several new features to make ShiftBear Pro valuable:
- Income tracking
- Improved UI for the clock-in/out screen
- Better onboarding to boost conversions
- Export schedule for printing
- Export time logs to a spreadsheet
I think I'm ready to move on to the next project and let the App Store do its work. I still need to figure out marketing—this includes finding where my target audience hangs out. I probably should've researched that before launch, but it's my first one, I'm glad I shipped it, and I'll learn a lot from this.
@Artur_Abra Well Im sorry to hear that. Looks like you are trying to genuinely put yourself out there. There is not better way to connect with people than to bare your soul to them. Praying for you my friend that you will find your community.
@jackfriks Yeah, I find tools like this so fascinating. As a kid, I always dreamed I could just talk to my computer and it would do things for me. We're basically there. Just need Claude to release live mode!
What vibe coding from my laundry room has taught me
- You might be able to one-shot an entire app, but that doesn't mean it will be usable.
Shipping fast can create software that runs, but only iteration turns it into something people actually want to use.
- LLM credits are expensive.
No matter if you use Claude, Grok, or any other model, this stuff costs money and takes time. Every moment you're building—especially at the start—you're not recouping your subscription costs, which can feel a little intimidating.
- I actually just love doing this.
I really enjoy the process: building, iterating, and testing on friends, family, and coworkers. I've gotten to a place where I'm fine if this turns into a business (I'd love that), but with life and everything else right now, it's not realistic to go all in—and that's okay.
@CJfromJBW Wow, I love the detail. Its cool seeing the mind of a designer, Im usually like "The drop down works, Yay!" and move one. Great seeing this thinking process.
I just ate my first meal after not eating for 3 days.
The first day sucked. I was irritable and distracted. My wife and kids were not having a good time with me.
The second day was better than I expected. I started feeling lighter and had more energy. Just felt clean for the first time in a while.
By the third day I was having some slight headaches but still felt super light and was more focused than I have been in a long time.
This first meal probably isn't the best way to break a fast, but it's what I wanted, hopefully I can implement more clean eating from now on.
Just glad I could strengthen my inner "No".
Spent 2 years “learning to code.”
Translation:
• endless tutorials
• debugging for hours
• a new SaaS idea every 5 minutes
• nothing real to show for it
Today I finally have this.
Something shipped.
Something people are paying for.
Progress is quiet… until it isn’t.
