I wrote my first line of code in 2019, and though there was a gap in between, I still kept pushing. I know one day it’s all going to make sense.

Do not stress yourself on something you can automate.

I recently built a pre order website for my dad’s book, Built to Last.

I needed to save pre order details and send confirmation emails.

Instead of building a full backend and spending hours setting up email services, I used Supabase + https://t.co/9LloWmyAb0.

Form submitted → data saved → email sent.

Simple.

As developers, we sometimes over-engineer things just because we can.

If a tool can reliably handle the boring part, let it.

Save your code for the problems that actually need it.

I recently built a chatbot into a website I’m working on. It was my first time building one from scratch, and it made me realize how much understanding goes into something that looks so simple on the surface.

I had to think about the knowledge base, how the bot understands the website, how it responds, when it shows buttons or links, and how it handles different conversations.

I could do this because I had used and studied similar systems before.

And this applies even when you’re using AI.

You don’t necessarily need to know how to code before you can build with AI. What you need is an understanding of the principles behind what you’re trying to create.

Once you understand how something works, you can explain it clearly to AI and get much better results. You can even explain it to another developer and have them build it for you.

AI can write the code, but you still need to know what the code should achieve.

Sometimes, coding is necessary. Other times, understanding the concept is enough to bring the idea to life.

So don’t just learn how to use tools. Learn how things work.

Because the better you understand, the better you can create.
