NVM

Node Version Manager. A bash script that lets you install and switch between Node.js versions with one command. nvm install 20, nvm use 18, done.
Why it matters: It's the default way virtually every JavaScript developer on macOS and Linux installs Node. Not "a popular tool" — the tool. It's in onboarding docs at basically every company that writes JS. It's in CI pipelines, Dockerfiles, dotfiles, bootcamp curricula. Node has ~20M+ developers globally; a large share of them have run this script.
Scale reality: 94.5k stars puts it in the top ~0.01% of all GitHub repos. Top 50 repos of all time.
