How do markets work on @tangent_fi ?

Tangent is a DeFi protocol that lets you borrow USG (an over-collateralized stablecoin) against productive collateral that still earns yield.

There are 2 types of markets: HEC and LEC.

@Tangent_fi separates reward economics from debt issuance: HEC can offer 0% interest above its USG price threshold through reward deductions. LEC charges dynamic interest from loan open.

$CRV incentives have been pushed, but no one has taken advantage of them so far! So let’s consider a $25k deposit and a borrow at max LTV (78%), followed by a deposit into $sUSG:

→ Collateral APR falls to 25.5%, borrow rate = 4.36%, $sUSG APY = 14%

→ Net APR = 0.255 + 0.78 × (0.14 - 0.0436) = 33%

Incentives will stream for 7 days before the LP’s native APR takes over. Then, the net APR of the strategy will be ~10%. Still decent!

The more USG depegs downward → the more expensive it becomes to borrow → more people repay → this helps push USG back toward $1.
