Andre's been involved with Sonic (then Fantom) since June 2018.
At the time I was at a fund that fundraised for the project. After the previous team had messed up and plagiarised their technical paper, we were about to close it until Andre convinced us that he was already developing technology we could use. We decided to keep the project going.
It was the best decision.
Andre worked 24/7 to get the chain launched. If it wasn't for him, Fantom would've died in 2018. It was him and the team that took a project that was under $6m market cap in January 2019 to billions of dollars.
He's been the MVP for Sonic. But you treat him as if he's done nothing.
Stop engaging in conspiracies like "he's deliberately sabotaging Sonic" or "suppressing price" and others. Because it's just rubbish and the complete opposite of the truth.
You criticise him because of one issue on one graphic. Yet if you bother to read the FT docs and The Block article (which to be fair a few have) you'll see things like:
> "The FT token contract: Is initially deployed with 10 billion tokens minted on Sonic chain (ID 146)";
> ftUSD graphic using Aave + Beets as an example;
> Zero-fee trading on Sonic;
Just let the man work. Andre is by far the most creative + technically competent dev I've met in my life.
@0xfarmed@flyingtulip_@SonicLabs It is a quite different story.
Solidly was aiming decentralization and immutability.
@flyingtulip_ , on the other hand, aiming capital efficiency and fee generation.
With a killer app, a chain thrives.
@flyingtulip_ will be the killer app of @SonicLabs $S
Why?
-Highly capital efficient -> high yield -> high TVL -> low slippage -> great UX -> more users -> high tps
-Large funding -> even more users
-high TVL & more users -> more apps thrive
subtext:
1. “don’t be the l1” : Recent de-emphasis of Sonic looks like risk separation, actually paving the way to deploy on Sonic while keeping the chain neutral and the app independent.
2. “Fully permissionles” on-chain model, no license wait → launch shouldn’t be too late.
On chain activity of #Sonic $S been dropping in last 3 weeks, resulting tps down from 9 to 5.
Two reasons contributed to this:
1. Users gone. -9%
2. Remaining users have less fun. -36% txns per addr
@NaveenCypto#sonic has roughly the same active user count as #fantom, most likely migrated from fantom.
To revive, sonic really need to attract users from outside of sonic/fantom ecosystem.
$FTM $S
TVL booming 10x @SonicLabs, but user base stagnating.
Why?
Weekly active users:
#Fantom:200k
#Sonic:150k
Active $FTM users should have 100% migrated, then why no new users jumping in the fun to earn the 200M $S and yummy APR?
Any ideas?
