#WATCH | Delhi | On the death of a 15-year-old teenager due to alleged delay in treatment at AIIMS Delhi, father Mukesh Pariyani says, “…I had come to AIIMS, Delhi, for my daughter's treatment. I visited for the first time on October 10, 2012, to the OPD. After that, I went to Room No. 14. From there, I was referred to Room No. 18. Some initial tests and examinations were conducted by Dr Kothari. This process took about a year. Then, I was referred to Dr Sachin Talwar in Room No. 4. Dr Sachin Talwar asked me to deposit the money and blood, assuring me that he would operate. I deposited the blood and money on April 4, 2014. After the OPD visit, I was given a date for the operation. When I went on September 2, 2015, I was told the operation would be done after Diwali… I tried contacting them after January 4, but I was given the runaround; they kept saying the operation wouldn't be done just yet and kept postponing it… After that, following another OPD visit, I lodged a formal complaint with the PMO… After the complaint was filed, we received a call from the hospital asking us to come in so the surgery could be performed. Dr Sachin Talwar called us but then refused to operate, stating that unless the complaint was withdrawn, he wouldn't proceed… We made several rounds back and forth, but they kept putting us off, saying they would do it later and telling us to come back another time… In 2018, we were asked to get the necessary tests done. Despite the examinations, we received no response, nor were we informed about the nature of the illness. I went again in 2023, but they refused to operate... Then, in 2025, we filed a complaint again… Then we were asked to come on July 28, 2025. When we went, the doctor was on leave… They then said that the child would manage on medication alone and had no issues, and they just sent us away like that. After the medication was prescribed on the OPD card, I called and lodged a complaint on February 9, 2026… They kept running tests, but the operation never happened; they just kept running tests… My child passed away. Who is responsible for this?.. If my daughter could have been cured through an operation back in 2015, 2016, or 2017, why didn't they perform it? I want the strictest possible action to be taken… I demand an inquiry; I want justice…”

It's time for judicial review of the amendments made in 2018 to SC/ST Atrocities Act which removed the safeguards laid down by the Supreme Court to check its rampant misuse.The Amendments have made it worse. Every affected party must prefer a constitutional challenge to the Act.

Today, the General Category peacefully protested at Jantar Mantar against the UGC and demanded reforms in the reservation system. Yet the Modi’s Delhi Police responded with a lathi charge and other force.

CJP had been protesting for more than 20 days, but the govt took no such action for 20 days. When the General Category raised its voice against the UGC, permission was denied before as well.

Also, when this protest is about saving merit and demanding fairness, not a single one of your so called “neutral” influencers has opened their mouth. Where is your neutrality now?

Modi made SC/ST Act more draconian, increased reservation in NEET-PG, increasing reservation in Odisha, MP, UGC, caste census and what not.

And even after all this, if you belong to the General Category and still blindly support Modi, then you are betraying your own community.

General Category needs to wake up. This cannot continue. Either Modi has to go in 2029 or accept our demands!

Today is one of the most emotional days of my life. I genuinely don’t have the words to express what I am feeling right now.

Exactly four years ago I started speaking about reservation reforms.

I was abused. Mocked. Trolled. Threatened. I even got SC/ST Act notice by Delhi Police. But I kept going.

For four years, I wrote thousands of posts and made hundreds of videos on the issues. People I had never met started reaching out to me & sharing their stories.

The last four years have not been easy. I have lost work because I chose to associate myself with this movement. I have lost friendships. I have been attacked by trolls and IT cells. There were attempts to intimidate and silence me in every possible way.

I rarely spoke about any of this. Because for me, the cause was always bigger than my career, my comfort, my friendships, or anything I could personally lose.

And today…

When I stood back and saw thousands of people at Jantar Mantar demanding reservation reforms, I honestly felt something I cannot put into words.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. ❤️
