We were absolutely thrilled to assist our parent service, the Royal Air Force, at their town show in Sunderland at the weekend!
Cadets did themselves proud representing the Squadron, and the wider Wing, with many positive comments from the project team - well done!

Friday saw cadets swap their aerospace pens for paddles with an inspirational journey on the River Wear at Chester-le-Street!
Our intro sessions prepare paddlers for more challenging outings, with several planned throughout the year...

In addition to last week's Air Experience Flying, we were lucky enough to have 4 cadets complete their Gliding Induction Flight at RAF Topcliffe.
With 2 exhilarating winch launches each, they were able to feels the effects of the aircraft controls, soaring above North Yorkshire!
Last week, RAF Leeming flew 7 of our cadets - in what was an amazing day!
Each flight lasted 30 minutes with three first timers taking to the skies...

The last weekend in March played host to the annual Inter Squadron cross country competition at the Rising Sun country park...
Well done to our team for representing the Squadron at the first sporting event of the season!
This weekend, cadets completed their expedition training in readiness for the upcoming Duke of Edinburgh season.
Using the fantastic Thropton War Memorial hall as a base, they've learnt everything to safely and confidently complete their expedition section - well done!
This week, Flt Lt Yeo, Sgt Franciosy and Cpl McCabe attended the 2026 High Sheriff awards at the Glasshouse in Gateshead.
The Squadron was thrilled to be awarded £1000 in recognition of 'great and valuable services to the community'.
Congratulations to FS Robson for placing third in the over 17 male category at the Inter Squadron climbing competition, which took place over the weekend.
Inter Squadron events are an important part of our Training Programme and we always look forward to the next one!

Yesterday, we took a full minibus to visit the awesome National Museum of Flight in Scotland!
A great day was had, with lots of interesting exhibits and interactive exercises supporting the RAFAC STEM syllabus.
