Reflecting on our history with a photo from the 1980s, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) is a technique to analyse the surface structure and elemental composition of a sample. Technology has advanced but 1710 still use these principles today. @RoyalNavy
Reflecting on our history: Between 1988-1989, NATEC, NATIU and smaller units came together to form the Mobile Aircraft Support Unit (MASU). Here's MASU working on an Army Gazelle from 1989. @RoyalNavy@NavyWingsUK
1710 NAS is celebrating its 14th anniversary this month by reflecting on the decades leading up to its commission in 2010. Combining MARTSU, MASU, NAML, and other smaller units. Below, is a team from HMS Daedalus in the 1980s who repaired Westland Wessex aircraft. @RoyalNavy

The finish line! The team have made it safely back to Lukla. It has been a challenging but rewarding journey. Thankyou to everyone who followed and supported us along the way. With thanks to @RoyalNavy@NAVYfit@RNRMC@TeamForcesUK, Chemring Countermeasures, Gosling Foundation.
As the team gets lower the temperature is starting to increase but the views are just as spectacular. The descent also gives opportunities for the team to reflect on their achievements. @RoyalNavy@NAVYfit@RNRMC@TeamForcesUK
The team are now heading down. Sadly due to icy and dangerous conditions they had to take the difficult decision to bypass the 3rd and final pass. Although they must still contend with cold and icy conditions such as this frozen river to make it back safely. @RoyalNavy@NAVYfit
Made it! At a height of 5364m the team have arrived at Everest Base Camp. Thanks to @GurkhaAdventure and our brilliant sponsors @RNRMC@TeamForcesUK, Chemring Countermeasures and Gosling Foundation. @royal navy @NAVYfit
A test of the teams endurance is required as they leave for Everest Base Camp. It's a 12 hr round trip spent mostly above 5000m and a 5am start! @RoyalNavy@NAVYfit@RNRMC@TeamForcesUK
