Today attended a very interesting tour/talk by Ross from @HistEnvScot commemorating the 280th Anniversary of the Jacobite siege of Stirling Castle in 1746.
Ross toured the main areas of the castle impacted by the various Jacobite uprisings and explained the actions.
Next Saturday, 18th April, the annual commemoration on Culloden battlefield will take place marking the 280th anniversary of the battle.

Today marks the 280th Anniversary of the Battle of Falkirk Muir in 1746.
Appropriate that today members of the Association attended the 5th Annual Battle of Falkirk Muir Trust where we are entertained by quality speakers and some of the Trust's collection.

The Mass in Commemoration of the Martyrdom of the Revs Robert Lyon was held today at Perth Cathedral. Attended by members of the Association and Congregation, it was followed a Wreath Laying at the site of where the Jacobite Headquarters once stood.
Today marks the 280th anniversary of the Battle of Prestonpans, fought on this day in 1745.
The short battle was a total rout by the Jacobite Army against the Hanoverian Army led by John Cope.
Today visited the last resting place of Lord George Murray at Bonifacius Kerk in Medemblik, Netherlands.
His actual grave is now outside the church with the original stone housed within.
Laid a white rose on his grave and thistles in the inside stone. RIP

Another memorable Annual Commemoration Service at Culloden today.
Very pleased to get to meet @_KateForbes and to hear her rousing speech on Gaelic culture. Also took the opportunity to highlight the work being done by GSDC - Group to Stop Development at Culloden to her.
Taking place today is the Annual Commemoration of the Battle of Culloden at the Memorial Cairn.
Members of the Association Council will be in attendance to lay a wreath to all the fallen from both sides. Long may they live in our memories.
Today marks the 279th anniversary of the Battle of Culloden, fought on Drumossie Muir.
We remember all those that lost their lives from both sides and representatives will be attending the Annual Commemoration this Saturday at Culloden.
