๐ท๐ผ 69 ๐ MINUTES | RWANDA'S PRESIDENT: THEY SPLIT A COUNTRY IN TWO AND SEPARATED FAMILIES
President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame:
"They drew a line, left one on this side, and the other side, it was called Congo.
But this line divided the families.
You can talk about others who migrated and went to Congo from Rwanda or vice versa, whatever it is.
But there are those who are indigenous to that place.
These are the ones who are fighting, whom the government is uprooting and saying, 'You go back to Rwanda.'"
๐ท๐ผ DID THE WEST GET IT WRONG ON RWANDA?
The U.S. and U.K. just sanctioned Rwandaโs defense minister, blaming the country for the ongoing war in eastern Congo.
But some experts say the U.S. is backing the wrong side and ignoring the real cause of the conflict.
For years, Congoโs government has reportedly failed to keep peace agreements and has even harbored terrorist groups tied to the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
Now, Rwanda says it had no choice but to act, claiming its forces discovered stockpiles of weapons that point to a possible Congolese attack.
Critics argue Western officials are making a major mistake by treating Rwanda as the aggressor while Congo bombs civilians in rebel-held areas.
Some believe the real solution is reforming Congoโs government, not punishing Rwanda.
