Having problems with abstract thinking is one of the 10 warning signs of dementia. ⚠️

Someone living with dementia may have significant difficulties with using a calculator because of a loss of understanding what numbers are and how they are used.

Strategies are available to help support a person living with dementia who lives alone and, as the disease progresses, how to modify these strategies to meet the person’s abilities.

It's #FirePreventionWeek! Here are some tips you can use to keep fire prevention top of mind:

🍳 Look while you cook & never leave the stove unattended while on.
🔋 Change batteries in smoke & carbon monoxide alarms twice a year.
🔌 Don't overuse your electrical outlets.
