Just started to edit my first ever novel and immediately realized that the first chapter and a half are completely useless, hurting my already low word count. And now I have no idea what the first page of the book should be... great editing start 😥

@CSMACKEY_AUTHOR I know i shouldn't, but yessss. Any cover with a crappy picture of a person makes me cringe. A book with a cover design that is not based on photographing an actual person has much better chances at getting my attention.

@RyanRinsler Writing is painful, while reading (most of the time) is joyful, so the two are not exactly comparable. I don't think it is a motivation issue, some writers struggle with first drafts because they always suck and we just want things to be perfect. At least that's my case.

@niladri_m Originally, when we were asked to write a short book in highschool for language class (spanish, my mother language). But it sucked and i actually discovered i was good at it and loved it when i randomly started writing in English.

@CSMACKEY_AUTHOR I have it in my bookshelf. It was an actual book (short) that we were asked to write and print when i was in 10th grade. Let me tell you... It sucked! But i got an A+.
