TfL has recently confirmed a tender to replace its 29 ageing battery engineering locomotives: some of this indefatigable yellow fleet have components over 100yrs old. They’re not seen often (usually operating away from public services) so here are my snaps of L52 under repair at Ruislip Depôt, L27 & a consist of 6 locos readying for the night shift there, plus L48 on duty at Bank during the rebuild project. New locos are due at design stage in 2029.
This is a bit late because I've had a busy day, but Happy 40th Anniversary to Network SouthEast 🟥🟦⬜️

New tri-mode (elec/diesel/battery) EMUs to take over & now on Sicily for training.
It will speed up & simplify ship loading compared to today’s electric loco trains which require diesel shunting.
Today marks 40 years since the launch of the Network SouthEast brand, which replaced British Rail's London & South Eastern sector (originally created in 1982).

🐶 A stray dog recently turned an ordinary morning into an extraordinary rescue at South Merton as quick-thinking colleagues stepped in & brought the pup to safety after spotting it alone on the platform.
Thanks to a coordinated effort across train crew & station teams, the well-travelled dog was safely cared for & reunited with her owner later that day.
Happy World Environment Day! 🌍
This year's theme is climate action. We've been highlighting the impact of climate change on our railway with our Summer Rail Garden - and how we're planning for the long term. ☀️

A very unique final train of the day, the 1 a day @LNRailway service from London Euston to St Albans Abbey! Very handy service for me as my local station is on the Abbey Line. Would absolutely love to have more services to/from London Euston on the Abbey Line
