How many justices say that no babies born in the U.S. to illegal aliens are birthright citizens? The answer is zero.
Six justices hold that every child born of parents unlawfully or temporarily present in the United States is a citizen—five under the Citizenship Clause, one (Justice Kavanaugh) under federal immigration law.
Perhaps less noticed is that two other justices (Justice Thomas and Justice Gorsuch) leave open the possibility that massive numbers of babies born to illegal aliens are birthright citizens, and the approach of the ninth justice (Justice Alito) means that some difficult-to-quantify (but potentially very large) number of babies born to illegal aliens also are.

@endbringer42@LP_CLC@JerrySalsita After an ounce of critical thinking it becomes clear that it is not a list. Which of the people in that sentence belongs to families of ambassadors and foreign dignitaries?
@LP_CLC@JerrySalsita Also when he says
"...who belong to families of ambassadors..."
Who is he talking about? Someone in that sentence belongs to those families. Who?
@SweetSalty51951@MendlovitzMark@ishapiro@Heminator This means that foreigners, aliens, who belong to families of ambassadors, etc, are excluded from the amendment. That's all. It doesn't mean ALL foreigners are excluded.
@LoFran63729@SummerShaddows@SenRandPaul@DollyDog60 Most people stop reading before the part where it says "...who belong to families of ambassadors or foreign minsters..."
They would rather leave out that context that makes it clear the 14th amendment was never meant to exclude ALL foreigners.
@The_JBS "... who belong to the families of embassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons."
Why did you leave out the end of that sentence?
@SenTedCruz It was "meant" for slaves because everyone else already had automatic citizenship rights.
US in 1857: everyone born here except foreign dignitaries and enemies is a citizen
SCOTUS: not slaves!!
US in 1868: ok then we'll use the words ALL PERSONS in the amendment
@MondoMark0809@tarmaccccc@nicksortor@StephenM It was meant for freed slaves in the sense that they were the only class who didn't have citizenship rights. European immigrants could, and did, come over here and give birth to children who were US citizens. The 14th just extended those rights to people of African descent, too.
