A Rainbow parent has a cousin who is a Sparks leader in Canada and we are exchanging some gifts. The parcel for us has been shipped so this week we made some Rainbow pets to send to our friends far away! Can’t wait to finish off the parcel and send it over!

Back from a tremendous day. Rainbows loved everything about it! Farm, friends, fun and riding the trams all a huge hit with us. The Rainbows were blown away by seeing so many Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in one place. Happy times 😊 #GGDNDoBeamish @Girlguiding_DN

And we’re off! We’re joining around 1600 girls and volunteers from Girlguiding Durham North for a visit to @Beamish_Museum to mark the coronation of King Charles III. We’ll be enjoying the museum, trying out activities from Guiding history and forming a parade #GGDNDoesBeamish

We’re spreading a little kindness as part of #TheBigHelpOut Rainbows have made suncatchers to send to a local residential home and donated books to share with the community. Watch this space for more Lending a Hand in the coming months @Girlguiding

Christmas has been unleashed at Rainbows!!! This week we made life size gingerbread girls. Helped us finish our Green Challenge too as we only used craft bits we had leftover from other things. @Girlguiding @GirlguidingNEE

We loved doing our danceathon for Children in Need and @Girlguiding The Rainbows danced from the second they walked through the door to when they left, even dancing as they sat down for a rest!! Lots of fun and laughs and over £300 raised so far. Keeeeep Dancing!! 🌈

Our birds need us!! The rainbows decided to make bird feeders for the birds that visit their gardens and streets. We think there will be some very happy birds in our area! @GirlguidingNEE @RSPBEngland @durhamwildlife

Rainbows have started their Skills Builder this week and worked hard to Set the Story Straight. Inspired by Evie R who brought in her Drawing badge work, the Rainbows decided to draw their story ideas instead of writing them. So much creativity and imagination!

Here is our leader badger, we think she’s awesome and we love real badgers too! It’s National Badger Day so we challenge you to do something to celebrate badgers! We’ll be checking our badger knowledge later in the month with the Rainbows #Brocktober

Last few weeks we’ve been exploring food waste and doing some experiments with things from the kitchen! Very exciting and the Rainbows think that scientists must have a lot of fun! 🌈 👩‍🔬 @girlguiding @Girlguiding_DN

Lydia is desperate to go camping with @girlguiding. We couldn’t make it happen for her at Rainbows but to celebrate her Bronze Award, we had a camp night in the church hall! We built dens, played lines and dots, lit our fire and cooked camp donuts. Happy faces all round ⛺️ 🔥

The Rainbows chatting about spring inspired us to try some butterfly themed activities together! We made straw rockets, biscuits from scratch, crafts and played some fun games. We also shared what we know about butterflies with each other. Rainbows is best when girls lead! 🌈

In our lovely Rainbow bubble away from the awful news, we visited India, Kenya and Switzerland. We used spices to create art and they smelled amazing. We also made rainmakers and learnt the song Edelweiss. An hour of innocent bliss 🌈

Rainbows were excited to join the Brownies this week for a Winter Olympics themed, jam packed session! We tried all sorts of silly versions of real Olympic events. Our favourite was definitely the skeleton! We also discovered that Mya is a talented curler #Beijing2022 @TeamGB

Rainbows are exploring countries around the world this term. Mexico is our latest stop. The Rainbows made guacamole. There was much chat about how it looked, smelled and even sounded squelching under the masher. Most of us tried it, some were surprised it was tasty! 🥑 🌈

We had a great time exploring Lunar New Year 🧧 Loving that red is a lucky colour and trying to write Chinese symbols. So proud of the Rainbows who all had a go despite not knowing how to write all the letters in the English alphabet @GirlguidingNEE 🌈
