I’m rejecting your premise that criticising it obligates me to become a professional localiser and personally fix the industry. Regardless it is changing. New laws means most localisers will no long apply for permanent residency.

@SalemDonuts @queenberryuma I’m not going to waste my time with you any further. There is a clear and persistent trend of localisers taking creative liberties under the idea of ‘appealing to the mass market’. It’s disgusting. A ‘localiser’ should convey the original intent as close as possible

@SalemDonuts @queenberryuma Don’t even attempt to raise the argument of “oh the original author approved these translation so it’s okay”. Almost all Japanese localisation is outsourced to a team of westerns. The original devs cannot provide oversight because they don’t understand English

That why he got booted, never returned to translate a MG game and all future MG games localisations were subject to tighter fidelity requirements
