We're really pleased to hear the JMO wholly condemning the appropriation of morris dancing for white supremacist purposes. There is no room for hate in folk
#FolkAgainstFascism#blacklivesmatter
The Joint Morris Organisations wholly condemns and disassociates themselves from the sentiments expressed in an article recently published on a nationalist website. We hope the entire morris community would join us in rejecting the divisive narrative put forward by this article.
NFDG isn't on. But even if we're not meeting in person, we're still a community. We're not a group of dancers who have become friends - we are a group of friends who happen to dance. And that we will stay, even if the dancing is on hold for a few weeks.
#stayinghome#community
With a heavy heart, we've had to close the club for the meantime due to the current #CoronavirusOutbreak .
Keep following us here or checking our website at https://t.co/jZm7cih8Yi for updates
I had a great time doing the Saturday night ceilidh, thanks to the Outlandish Knights, and to everyone who came and danced, for making it a great gig. #ivfdf
We’ve been asked by Charlotte from York to thank the kind person who gave her a blanket when she was sleeping. It’s been handed in to front desk now so collect it when you’re free :)

ROOM CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT
We’re anticipating tonight’s bal being very popular so we’ve decided to swap venues for the the bal and the late night dancing. Late night dancing will now be in SH2 (upstairs, the green one) and the bal will be in SH1 (the big one downstairs)
CHANGE TO THE (PRINT) PROGRAMME
The Scottish dance tonight with Edmund McIntosh and Christ Dewhurst and his Scottish Country Dance Band will be starting at 6pm and not 7pm as in the programme. Tell your friends!
This dance has been sponsored by @rscdsdancescot
Attention societies! We currently only have two teams down for the display ceilidh :(
Please sign up at the *front desk* to show us something your society does that can be performed in trainers/soft-soled shoes. It doesn't have to be polished and it can be as silly as you like
@BobMorganChem The email they sent to us asked for anyone coming from Edinburgh or Scotland in general so we suspect they're probably still in Scotland but I will check
Can you help?
A car bringing morris dancers from Glasgow has been involved in an accident. Everyone is fine but the dancers/musicians in the car may now not be able to make it to IVFDF.
If you're coming from Scotland to IVFDF and have space for passengers, please get in touch!
What are you up to this weekend? Why not go along to @2020Ivfdf ? It's being run in #Nottingham this year by a committee led by two NFDG members and will be a weekend full of #folk and #fun! Check out the schedule on their website: https://t.co/afJtnwc875
IVFDF 2020 starts this evening!
Our wonderful stewards will be your first port of call and able to answer most of your questions during the festival but if you need a member of the committee for anything, here we are:

IVFDF 2020 is tomorrow! We know, we can't quite believe it either...
IVFDF veterans - what would you recommend a first time IVFDF goer should pack?

We think it's lovely that our sponsors @NCT_Buses are celebrating #WorldBookDay by offering a free bus ticket if you show your book to the driver while boarding! This is what we'll be reading today - what about you?
#folk#historicaldance#Nottingham
In 48 hours, ticket collection will be open at the Lee Westwood Sports Centre on @TrentUni 's Clifton Campus! We're really looking forward to IVFDF - a weekend packed full of music, dance and joy for students and students at heart alike! See you very soon!

@UKJon5@NCT_Buses There may be some delays because of the diversion further up the line but we think the disruption should mostly just affect people who are trying to get from the city centre to Queen's Walk during the closure. And why would you do that when there's dancing? :P
Update from @NCT_Buses - due to bridge closure, the 48 bus can't serve The Meadows between 10pm-6am - diverting via Trent Bridge & Wilford Lane to reach Clifton. Buses to the city not affected so shouldn't affect getting from NTU to sleeping venues/city centre
