While the Lukashenka regime in Belarus releases 30 people a month, we must remember that it also arrests dozens of people every day. Just this month @viasna96 recognized 27 people as political prisoners, and many arrests might have gone unnoticed.
Repression must end.
On the Day of the #ImprisonedWriter, PEN Belarus stands with all writers and cultural figures facing repression. In Belarus there are 38 imprisoned writers. We call for their immediate release and continue to fight for freedom of expression https://t.co/DIXA2PJVTn
Andrey Gnyot, a Belarusian activist, is finally free 🤍❤️🤍 after months of unjust detention in Serbia, where he faced extradition threats. #FreeBelarus#Freerhemall
Nina Bahinskaya is an icon of bravery for Belarusians. Now, at 77, she faces trial once again for marching on the street with the Belarusian Popular Front flag. She was detained, her hands handcuffed behind her back. This courageous woman embodies everything the dictator fears.
#Belarus
Last week alone, 66 people were tried on politically motivated criminal charges in #Belarus, half of them for participating in the 2020 protests. While the dictator announces the date to re-elect himself, he is busy taking revenge on those who demanded a fair vote count in 2020.

#Belarus Thank you for spreading information about our case of 20 analysts and issuing the statements of support. It helps us explain the level of repression and brutal terror of the regime against Belarusians, including the community of analysts and journalists. It also helps us on a personal level when we see this solidarity.
Join us on October 11 at 16:30 for the vernissage of the UNBREAKABLE installation at Stasi-Zentrale, Haus 22, Ruschestraße 103, Berlin. This exhibition honors Belarusian human rights defenders from @viasna96 who are still imprisoned, highlighting the fight for justice in Belarus.
We haven't heard from Maryia Kalesnikava for more than 550 days. Other prisoners are forbidden from talking to Maryia & must stay in their cells when prison staff escort Maryia outside. Maryia is also denied proper medical care. The regime takes revenge on Maryia for her bravery.
On August 16, 2020, Minsk witnessed the "March for Freedom," a significant protest event in Belarusian history, as thousands took to the streets demanding democratic reforms and an end to political repression.

This. Please pay attention. Belarus is a small and insignificant, geopolitical, country. Its political prisoners wouldn't be exchanged because Belarus has nothing to demand from the West. But these are heroes, more than 1,000 of them - political leaders, poets, anti-war activists, and just honest people. Do not forget of the Belarus political prisoners, true heroes as well.
#Belarus Lukashenka's visit to Valaam in #Russia is noteworthy given recent developments. He and Putin spent three days together, but there is little information about the outcome of their talks. Recently, Lukashenka has shifted his rhetoric regarding both Ukraine and the West, as I wrote for the @AtlanticCouncil.
He stated that Ukrainians are not enemies and emphasized that talks should occur between the regime and the EU, even introducing a visa-free regime. This visit may be a response to such actions. Although symbolic, they are characteristic of the Lukashenka regime.
#Deutschland umgeht besonders stark Sanktionen und exportiert kriegsrelevante Güter (u.a.
