@PAOerfulone10@SFGiants@NationalPro I’m not even going to exaggerate when I say O somehow erased McGee being our closer from my mind. The epitome of torture where I swear he had two baserunners every save attempt or if it was a three run lead he’d give up two, but like 80% of the time he somehow got the save.
@ryanatanner@MLBONFOX I don’t think Ryan gets nearly enough credit for how long he pitched. Not Maddux, Johnson or Pedro though. Those guys pitched through the heart of the steroid era and being honest I still don’t think Kersh gets enough flak for how bad he was in the postseason for all those years
@ryanatanner@sportss99@MLBONFOX I mean he’s 4-0 with a 0.25 ERA through four World Series starts and a five inning save (MLB record for more than 20 innings) and holds the record for most innings in a single postseason (52 2/3). He’s 100% in the argument and you’d probably have to go back to Gibson to top him.
@sportss99@ryanatanner@MLBONFOX I’ve never seen a pitcher put an entire team on his back like Bum did in 2014. Without a doubt one of the greatest postseason runs of all time
@ryanatanner@MLBONFOX In my lifetime he’s more than likely a top 5 but I’ve seen Verlander Maddux, Randy Johnson, Pedro and Clemens all pitch and I think it’s a fair argument to put any of them over Kershaw and that’s not ego mention Koufax, Gibson, Ryan or Palmer. Top 10 is definitely an honor imo
@Buster_ESPN@EliasSports@SlangsOnSports Only reason there’s a sliver of hope is how bad the NL Central is. The Cardinals don’t have the pitching for a turnaround like that especially throwing Wainwright out there every fifth day
