It's time for @JustinTrudeau to follow up on the calls for a Canadian energy data administration equivalent to the EIA. Our country is being torn apart by energy debates and the data landscape is highly skewed because only those who can afford to pay for commercial data have it.
@andrew_leach@JeffRobbEnglish@srheth Analysis assumes 100% efficient storage, 2016 hourly load data collected from a three-bedroom house in Victoria w/ 9628 kWh annual demand. We vary solar resource for different cities shown, but demand is the same.
There are really nice graphics in the new @NREL report on electrification. https://t.co/3lsc9RshD0 For example, here is a nice way to look at EIA data on the US energy system. Non-electricity above the line, electricity below.
@JesseJenkins Our recent publication explores the utilization of electrolyzers when co-sized with renewables to meet 80% penetration. 1 MW of electrolyzer can displace >1 MW of wind/solar. Annual electrolyzer utilization rate: 30-59%. https://t.co/qmhRSEcgF8
What does it take to go #offgrid with #Solar & #Tesla#Powerwall?
