@Nonat1s I usually utilize some kind of “succeed, but” mechanic if they fail to meet the dc. Usually this is something like alerting guards adding a time crunch to the scene or making some kind of narrative consequence.

@alyssavisscher Finding a coherent narrative to tie everything together, I usually pull it off but it's definitely the hardest for me. I've been DMing for about 7 years.
@JackGogsbane With the help of a friend I've reflavored the Orcs of my land into a more nomadic and communal polity, I based them on Turkic and Mongolian cultures and they lean heavily on chaos both good and evil. Hobgoblins in my world are like Uruk-Hai created to match Orcs, Elves and Humans
@mattcolville I hope this turns more out more like the Mandalorian, a new story within an old setting. That stands alright on its own, I just hope it's a solid 6/10 which is kind of sad I know.
@mattcolville I just hope the series isn't going to boil down to, oh wow here's Rivendell where they're going to do "that thing" in the future! And oh this is Elrond he's not a big deal right now but "Later!". Actors are actors, but lately I feel like dialogue isn't a focus in a lot of Media.
