Yeah and it’s a definitely a bit more acceptable when it’s regarding a film truly made by/for primarily Black audiences and crews, like I Love Boosters—it was laughable regarding You, Me, & Tuscany, especially given the director and writers were white.

I do think there’s space to make that call to action and still center on marketing based on the film’s quality, not its Blackness. Ryan Coogler did this very well with Sinners. Black people deserve to be appealed to as consumers via merit as opposed to altruism.
