Very unfortunate and frustrating ending, but these things can happen.
I still really enjoyed the experience together with Jules, Luggi and Dani. Thanks to the team and everyone around the track for your support.
Max says he has no intention to retire yet: “Everything would have to turn out very negatively [for him to retire now], but that is not the case. I'm going to keep going.”
“If I don't like something, it doesn't mean I don't want to do it. As a purist or car enthusiast, would I have preferred different regulations? Yes. But I also know that this is the way it is, and I always want to get the most out of it.”
Max on his comments regarding the 2026 regulations:
“I was asked a question and shared my opinion. We live in a free world with freedom of speech. That's how I felt. I was just being honest.”

Max Verstappen: "There are a lot of good drivers (in Formula E) that would perform well here.
But I don't want us to be close to Formula E.
I actually want us to stay away from that and be F1.
So don't increase the battery, actually get rid of that and focus on a nice engine!
And have Formula E as Formula E because that is what they are about.
And with the new car, from what I have seen and talked to some of my friends, that's also going to be a really cool car.
But let them be Formula E and we should stay F1 and let us not try to mix that."

VB: it's definitely not more dangerous than before
lewis: it's definitely not dangerous, should prob take that connotation away
max: you can always start from the pit lane if you feel unsafe
