An extraordinary week for Ireland has seen its history revised & diminished by a U.S Senator & British commentators
They repeat 80 year old anti-Irish slurs & 20th century thinking
The subject is Irish neutrality in WW2
What is the truth? (1)

The Tánaiste and Minister for Defence, Mr. Micheál Martin, T.D. attended the launch of the Regeneration and Development Plan for the Reserve Defence Force in Cathal Brugha Barracks this week, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Seán Clancy.
Both paid tribute to those members who selflessly give their time on a voluntary basis, in the service of the State. The Tánaiste noted the changing Defence and Security environment globally and reiterated the crucial role members of the RDF will continue to play in Ireland’s capabilities.
‘A number of key building blocks have already been put in place to facilitate the support of RDF members to the Permanent Defence Force, including the 2021 amendment to the Defence Act, allowing for their deployment nationally and overseas; the establishment of the Office of Reserve Affairs within the Defence Forces, and the recent increases to the mandatory retirement ages.’
This Regeneration and Development Plan, contains concrete actions to fully operationalise the four very clear priorities for the RDF going forward; recruitment and retention; resourcing; training and education; and finally, integration and deployment. ‘
Commenting on the plan, the Chief of Staff, Lt Gen Clancy said, “I very much welcome the publication of the Reserve Defence Force Regeneration and Development Plan which represents a significant initiative in the transformation of the Defence Forces. Our vision for 2030 is that Óglaigh na hÉireann will be a joint, agile and fit-for-purpose military force, postured to defend our sovereignty, protect Irish citizens and secure Ireland’s interests.”

Part of #2CISAR's role is to instruct on technical courses.
Here, Signalwoman Culhane is instructing on #Sitaware#Frontline, a #C4I platform that enables Defence Forces battlefield management.
Reservist value in action.
One Force, One Mission.
Spread the word....
Army Reservists train one night a week and occasional weekends.
Ireland needs more Reservists - people who are willing to squeeze in military service into their busy lives.
It's the best of both worlds, follow your chosen career, and serve your country.

2 Communications and Information Services (CIS) Corps is a Combat Support unit.
This is why we ensure that baseline soldiering skills are kept up to date.
Allow us to explain the process routine weapons training evaluations in the Army Reserve.
Of equal importance to maintaining a level of competency on weapons is the opportunity to train together as a unit.
These collective training events are what make the Army Reserve so special. It builds cohesion, trust, & value.
We are recruiting.

The reason we train on the HK USP is because it is a sidearm. This may be required when members of the unit are operating in tactical headquarters or forward operating bases where personal security is still necessary but doesn't necessitate carrying a rifle.
