Shoutout to the people that do the awkward little jog when a car lets them cross the street.
You are not moving any faster, but the effort is beautiful. I see you. I respect you.
whats insane is after all these years america has just one tragedy to mourn. while millions of people across the world who have been pummelled and tortured by the american empire dont know which day to pick.
Zohran Mamdani shaking hands with an Islamophobe like Giuliani, who tried telling him not to show up at all, is such a bad ass move. Zohran is incredible.
@Bilalfnd2 At the end of the day, it’s like, what makes you guys so special that the entire world has to mourn your tragedy, when this is everyday for most war torn countries in the middle east?
The unspoken thing here is that the jaw drop is not actually due to the scale of the dust plume but specifically because it is happening in New York. The same video taken in Beirut or Tehran would never get the same reaction from the viewer.
RIP to the 2,976 people that lost their lives on 9/11
And RIP to the 3.7 million people in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine,Syria, Yemen, and Pakistan who paid the ultimate price for a crime they did not commit
The man who inaugurated the War on Terror meets the man whose entire life was shaped in its shadow. There is so much to say about this, but for another day.
On September 15, 2001, Balbir Singh Sodhi was planting flowers outside his Arizona gas station when Frank Roque pulled up and fatally shot him. Roque wanted revenge for 9/11 and mistook Sodhi, a Sikh man, for a Muslim because of his turban.
Sodhi became the first person killed in a post-9/11 retaliatory hate crime, marking the beginning of a devastating wave of violence against Muslims, Sikhs, Arabs, South Asians, and other brown Americans.
