Today at the second hand bookshop I got my hands on a collection of Machiavelli essays including the one about how Borgia slaughtered Vitelli and the Orsinis
This is the core of my idea that I call »endless summer«. The same mental state in summer, transplanted into every day life. You are not worrying about errands on a beach towel, why worry on a cold November morning then?
the key to enjoying your every day life is to live like you're on vacation every day. in your home town. savour it like you're only here for a couple days, never to return again. (don't overspend yourself tho)
The state of local opera is so poor that I often fantasize about having a gallery to myself from where I would issue my judgement in a Roman emperor fashion. The directors would also be subject to certain »sanctions«. It’s the only thing capable of bringing a spark into my eyes.
I barely grasp the passing of time. I moved from BA less than half a year ago and only a glimpse remains of my time there. Instead of the last six months, there is a hole in my memory. Not to mention events further in the past. Anyway, here is a postcard from the Cyclades
To add to this, how does one find one's archetype?
Think about what you're naturally interested in. What were you drawn to as a child?
Were you sporty?
Were you more of a reader?
Were you quick-witted?
Or more of a deep thinker?
Were you socially charismatic?
Or more of a hermit?
Which of these qualities did you naturally have?
Seek to rediscover these qualities if you have lost them. If society has beaten them out of you, play to your strengths.
Pigs don't fly, and the eagle would look silly trying to dig in the dirt like a mole.
BE WHO YOU ARE and remove yourself from activities in which you are not most strengthened in order to create the most momentum in your life.
It can help to research and analyse your own astrological sign (my preference is to use sidereal astrology) in order to understand more about your proclivities, strengths, weaknesses, challenges, boons, and so forth.
Becoming the archetype that your soul is meant to be is powerful magic called individuation, which is what the soul wants.
The current culture of sameness, oneness, we are all the same, kumbaya bullshit, is designed to wipe this individuation away - and I mean this quite literally: the earth mother longhouse cults that have permeated the power structures seek to mix all the races, peoples, and cultures into one indeterminable mass of goop.
By differentiating oneself, by truly being oneself, we rise higher to the heroic ideals and archetypes that define us and give us our greatest strengths.
