No, I would not call this AGI yet.

But I understand why he feels that way.

What he described is not “normal chatbot” behavior anymore.

Codex did not just answer a question.

It opened Chrome.

Used Colab.

Connected to Drive.

Downloaded a dataset.

Installed dependencies.

Ran commands.

Fixed errors.

Managed a long workflow.

Then paused itself to survive the training cycle.

That is agentic work.

That is close to how a junior technical assistant behaves when given a clear task and a working environment.

But AGI means something much bigger.

AGI should be able to reliably generalize across many domains, handle ambiguity, plan deeply, recover from unknown situations, understand consequences, and operate with consistent judgment across tasks.

Codex doing one impressive technical workflow does not prove that.

What it proves is different:

AI agents are becoming useful enough to replace parts of real technical labor.

That is the real story.

We are not at AGI.

But we are clearly past the era where AI was “just autocomplete.”

This is now delegated work.

And for builders, that is already enough to change everything.

I just ran an agent based security review on @clientpadhq from my phone.

Deepsec scanned the codebase, investigated candidate risk areas, and produced the report.

Files analyzed.

Confirmed findings.

Zero.

Still early, but this matters to me.

ClientPad is open source CRM infrastructure.

If people will trust it with leads, bookings, WhatsApp workflows, payments, follow ups, reviews, and client data, the code has to be inspectable and security reviewed.

Open source is not enough.

Infrastructure needs trust.
