Pro Wrestling talk by a couple of life long fans who have worked in production for Professional Wrestling. Brought to you by @mattpjournalist and @Hey_Derek
Nepotism is a big problem in wrestling. Hiring people you're friends with vs people who can draw makes no sense.
Unless the draw is an absolute nightmare, you take the draw.
Just a personal opinion.
It was never a good idea to hire active wrestlers as EVP's. With the bad creative they've been involved in and the multiple contracts that are left to expire from the friends they hired, to poorly booked specific divisions, it was doomed to fail. - Matt
We don't take any fan polls seriously.
They typically are voted on by the same target demographic. It's all opinion, all subjective, and that's perfectly fine. - Matt

I'm all for Tweets hoping Jeff gets better.
You can unfollow if you're Tweeting about him going to AEW and making All Elite pictures. It's ridiculous.

Many of the talent that get released are told they "suck" almost every day on social media and then praised when they get released because it's not "right".
Wrestling in general is at the lowest point its ever been and social media makes it even worse. - Matt
If you want to know why wrestling isn't as good as it once once, log onto Twitter. All of talents who had to read why they "suck" are now being tagged in "dream" matches while they have to process what just happened.
Social media killed this business and that's what sucks. - Matt
You can go back and read months of tweets about how Kross wasn't very good on NXT by a large number of fans on Twitter. It was constant and every single day. Now that he's released he's a star for other companies by those very same fans.
Really don't spend anytime being mad about releases. Company has recycled talent since the 80's. Business is not always fair and the cream will always rise to the top. Things will work itself out.
Omega doesn't do it for me at all as a wrestler, but Bryan is the perfect opponent for him. Bryan is still one of the best in-ring story tellers of his (and other) generation. - Matt

All of the information that came out of #darksideofthering has been out in the public since it happened and what happened wasn't right then or now. No one should feel unsafe in their workplace and it takes a lot of bravery to come forward on television with this story. - Matt
