If God wasn’t sovereign over your suffering, it would be meaningless, but because God is sovereign over your suffering, it is both incredibly meaningful and fruitful. God is using your suffering to make you more like Jesus.
Suffering is also all-inclusive, so the question isn’t will you suffer, but how will you suffer? Will you love God through your suffering or hate God because of your suffering?
Suffering is formative one way or the other. Either you suffer well, trusting in the Lord and growing in your faith or you suffer poorly, rejecting the Lord and proving you never really had faith in the first place.
I love my country, but my love for Jesus will always be > my love for America.
Ironically, #ChristianNationalism makes God in its own image and thus is > love for Jesus.
My take on the #AmericaReadstheBible:
1. Praise God Scripture is being read.
2. Yes, @POTUS read the Bible, but that doesn’t make him a Christian. We should pray for his salvation.
3. II Chronicles 7:14 is a verse often taken out of context and misapplied.
#MemorialDay commemorates those who gave their lives for our liberties. But for the Christian, we celebrate the fact that Jesus didn’t just die but was raised to life giving us freedom from sin and freedom to live for Christ!
If you’re not fiscally conservative, are you even conservative? Also, there’s the issues of foreign wars, the National Debt, and government surveillance.
I’ve never met Allie, but I know she’s being sarcastic. Warnock, on the other hand, well, I’ve never met him either, but you can’t reconcile abortion with the Bible. It goes against science, the Constitution, and the Bible.
More Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams when it comes to economics. Less of the AOC and Bernie economic theory of democratic socialism. Let’s build the economy and not destroy; construction, not destruction.
Walter Williams died today. Sad loss for sound economic thought. I just hope we can honor him by studying he and the likes of Milton Friedman, Hayek, Bastiat, etc.
Plenty of #Thanksgiving posts on Facebook. Let’s fill #Twitter with the truth of Scripture. I’ll start: Psalm 9 begins with, “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;”
What’s your favorite Thanksgiving verse?
And you know that the rich actually love higher taxes because they can afford to buy out politicians and lobbyists to make themselves exempt anyway? Would love to discuss more!
