@jamie_arrington Weird for a coach to say.
Even if you genuinely believe there's an insurmountable quality difference, I don't think that's how you answer a question about a series of slow starts.
@nick_underhill Seems to me between this and the Tough Rule, I mean, Tuck Rule, it would behoove the NFL, if they want some consistency, to invoke a rule like with a safety... the ball must be completely past the plane of the back edge of the shoulder pads and be proceeding like a forward pass.
@ALEVYWORLD Yes.
Griff took some deserved blame and was a lightning rod for Ownership, attracting shots best aimed at them regarding some decisions.
Ownership lowered the ceiling but raised the floor... above "relocated."
Sad, but true.
This IS the price we pay for their billions.
@JonoBarnes Do you remember Adrian McPherson? Voodoo guy, did some times on the Saints back pre-K? Monty Montgomery and them.
He lined up under a guard in one preseason game.
Getting the number one pick doesn't fucking matter. What you get for your pick does.
Zion might have been the best pick in the draft that year, but that doesn't make him good enough, nor does it make picking him the best use of that pick.
Waive him and move on.
@all4Saints No. I was not happy about getting the top pick from before that lottery. The franchise isn't ready to handle top talent. They would be more well served building their organization out for years, then at least they'll be able to have a chance at keeping their top talent.

@Jim_Eichenhofer@FletcherWDSU Looking at it in terms of a tipping point, again, just for the top pick, it's 42-12.5-45.5 for "top 3"-"4th"-"bottom 10"
So, it's more likely that one team from "bottom 10" picks 1st than one team from "top 3" does.
For any given team, nothing "good" is "likely."
@Jim_Eichenhofer@FletcherWDSU To your point, Jim, there's a 54.5% chance that one of the top 4 lottery seeds pick first, 45.5% that it's not them. Over the course of 10 drafts, the outcomes are probably indistinguishable from a 50-50 scenario.
It's skewed 42-58 against the top 3 seeds.
