Today marks the start of #volunteersweek which celebrates the contribution of volunteers in the UK. We would like to extend a massive thanks to all the @aircadets Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers (CFAV) & committee members we have at the Squadron, their support is truly appreciated
Squadron staff arranged a visit to British Airways at Heathrow Airport.
Cadets were hosted by staff from British Airways on the day, and were shown the flight simulators which are used for pilot training, as well as tour around the Safety and Emergencies Procedures hall.
443 (Basingstoke) Squadron would like to express their gratitude to British Airways for hosting us for the day, showing us around their facilities and giving us an insight into what it is like to work for British Airways.

They were taken around the mock aircraft cabins and shown different aircraft door trainers.
One of the highlights of the day for both Cadets and Staff was being shown how to safely go down an Emergency Evacuation Slide.
This week saw the Squadron host The Worshipful the Mayor and Mayoress of Basingstoke for our annual awards evening. @OCHIOWATC was also in attendance to present some of the awards to the Cadets.
The Sqn paraded through Basingstoke for the Remembrance Service. It was lovely to be joined by @OCHIOWATC as well who marched alongside the Squadron. We also had a fly past from a Chinook from RAF Odiham, our parent station.

A big thank you to the cadets and volunteer staff from @HantsIOWWing in supporting the @RAF_Odiham families day and also to
@GraemeHUGHES17 and @swanoc2327 for all of the preparation as well as oversight on the day.

This weekend Cadets consolidated the fieldcraft training learnt this Summer. They put up Bashas, learnt about Sentry duty, used operational heaters to make hot drinks & completed a mini exercise to gain information. A great way to round out the off squadron fieldcraft training.
The Cadets were at the Armed Forces Day Convoy @MilestonesHCT on Saturday. They had a stall raising money for RAFA, provided a guard of honour to welcome the convoy and participated in a parade to unveil a commemorative plaque. They even got to enjoy ice cream!
