I always think about the women — the mothers who crossed dangerous lines for food, cared for the sick and wounded, and somehow kept families and hope alive. Their strength carried Biafra when everything else was falling apart. Many had already endured loss in the years before the war.
Their story is one of quiet, powerful love for our people. We honor them deeply this month. Let their example move us. In memory of all those women and the men who stood with them, we say it clearly: Biafra must rise free and independent. We carry their legacy in our hearts.

May 22. I am always amazed by the ingenuity of Biafran scientists and engineers who created local vaccines, fuel from palm oil, and other life-saving solutions while completely cut off from the outside world.
That creativity was inherited from the visionary spirit of our people who had already been pushing for fairness long before 1967.

Our greatest resource has always been the Biafran mind. These stories of innovation amid suffering fill us with pride. In deep gratitude to every inventor, thinker, fighter, and martyr, we draw fresh inspiration. This month strengthens our belief: Biafra shall stand once more as a free and independent sovereign nation. The future belongs to us.

The fall of Port Harcourt in 1968 was a heavy blow—we lost a major economic hub and vital port. Yet even in that loss, our people showed remarkable adaptability, moving forward and continuing the fight with whatever they had. That resilience was rooted in the same determination our forebears showed during the betrayals that followed independence.

Loss tests character like nothing else. Territory can be taken, but the human spirit refuses to be broken. In honor of the brave defenders of that time and all who came before, we draw strength. Biafra’s story is far from over. We will see her restored as a free and independent sovereign nation.
