INTRODUCING: The @TriMet Express 10-Line System Concept, a collaborative project between me and @48SunsetTC! (🧵)
The TriMet Express system would provide vital connections through the metro area and significantly reduce travel times for some areas.
If I had a nickel for every time I almost got right hooked at the intersection of SW Farmington and 160th; I could probably buy myself a brand new Gillig BRT
UPDATE: MAX Blue and Red Line service disrupted due to collision between train and deer near Sunset Transit Center. Shuttle bus to serve stations between Beaverton Transit Center and Goose Hollow. Expect delays.
@BadgerJust@teenagebirdsong I once told them about one of two the posted schedules at southbound Capitol and Sunset being an erroneous one for the wrong direction and those guys basically said "oh yeah we intentionally put those there as 'extra information' for riders in that busy area".
A transit system should strive to be very competitive w/driving, and this isn't it.
I'm not asking for <15 min headways on all lines; that's unrealistic, but I hope someday we'll get serious about our bus network. Like restoring the 62 to 30min and 15min 52 but actually for real
Do you ever just end up 45min late for work, because of trimetian battery bus blues 🪫 technology, combined with the fact that the line 62 is still running pre-соvid weekend schedules with those 45min headways 😍😍
I'm so glad my work is flexible when these situations arise
And why are only 2 major north-south washington county roads served with real frequency? (76 on Hall, and 20 on Cedar Hills)
All else is abysmal:
62-Murray: 45min
67-Bethany+158th: 1hr
52-185th: 30min 💀💀💀
88-198th+170th: 30min, 60min weekend
NOTHING: Cornelius Pass 😭
@BadgerJust I hate that we're going the wrong direction with the express lines too… literally now there's only 1 standing express line in the system after last weekend, the 96, and even that's on the chopping block.
I'm riding the new 76 to Oregon city on my way to my volunteer site
I feel like with how long the line is now, that it should be a separate "76L" limited stop version that just serves major stops along the 76 route.
Anyways, it's gonna be a fun 1.25 hours on here-
