Really interesting interview by Matt Maiocco @MaioccoNBCS with Aldon Smith, sometimes testing and uneasy to listen too, but really insightful look into one of the 49ers best pass rushers, who was refreshingly honest and candid about life as a footballer. I am sure there is more positive and good things that will come from Aldon Smith, who is helping rookies with that transition to the NFL

Random thought on the Falcons, we all know how hard it is for young QB’s, if a QB can spend two to three years behind a pro like Cousins, in a few years time we might be saying that was a great trade. Yes, it’s an expensive way of developing a QB, but it might work. Just a thought!

Armstead moves on, it’s a business decision based on what his cap hit was this year. Tough decisions need to be made sometimes. Shame he did not get his 10 years with the 49ers and will always be a fan favourite! Wish him all the best and hope he wins the Walter Peyton Award next season.

Mike - what about Kyle getting in an OC? This could allow him to focus on being a HC, but still input on play calls - i.e. we look to get the modern day equivalent of a Mike Holmgren in the booth upstairs to help Kyle? I know it will not happen. You right Wilks was scapegoated, 1.53 min, 3rd down, “run the ball” - that will haunt us for a very long time!
