A Mississippi community is reeling after a shocking series of violent crimes involving three brothers.

17-year-old Cordarius Hobbs is charged with capital murder after authorities say he broke into the home of 74-year-old Billy Blair and his 71-year-old wife, Virginia Carol Blair, and killed them during a home invasion.

Deputies responding to a welfare check reportedly interrupted the burglary in progress, leading to an hours-long standoff. According to court documents, Hobbs opened fire on law enforcement, injuring four officers and an infant. All survived with non-life-threatening injuries. He was eventually taken into custody and now faces 13 felony charges, including two counts of capital murder. Bond was denied.

Just days later, Hobbs' older brothers, 19-year-old Cortavion Hobbs and 18-year-old Cortavious Hobbs, were arrested after authorities say they shot Covington County Deputy Rodney Yates during a traffic stop that began over a seatbelt violation.

Investigators say the brothers fled, leading deputies on a high-speed chase. When the vehicle stopped, one suspect surrendered while another allegedly opened fire, striking Deputy Yates in a life-threatening wound above his protective vest.

Both suspects fled on foot but were later found hiding beneath a house and taken into custody.

They now face multiple charges, including attempted capital murder and hindering prosecution.

Three brothers. Multiple violent crimes. Two elderly victims dead. A deputy fighting for his life.

An absolutely devastating chain of events.
