Next week: May 22 is #WorldPreeclampsiaDay - a day in which we recognize that we have more in common than we have differences. No mothers or babies should die because of #preeclampsia, and yet they still do. Save the date to help amplify women's voices and create change!
We had such a great day teaching on @APEC_UK in Milton Keynes yesterday and so grateful to hear from @4theoA reminding all of us how important this is, thank you for inviting me to be a small part of it @julbil1@anitaobsmed
#Preeclampsiachat Low dose aspirin (75 or 150mg) taken from early pregnancy can reduce risks. Tends to be given to women at risk. It is very safe. Stop 150 mg at 36 weeks.
Worth mentioning the health risk does not end with the delivery of the baby as preeclampsia survivors are at 2-10 times greater risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD), including stroke, and are four times more likely to have high blood pressure. #Preeclampsiachat
Make sure you use the hashtag #Preeclampsiachat when sending your questions and responses during our tweetchat. Happening now! It's a great chance to ask the experts things about #preeclampsia you would like to know.
For World Pre-Eclampsia Day we asked families to share visually what pre-eclampsia meant to them.
This is what you did and you've moved us.
