South Korea, like other countries, is seeking to pressure CDN providers.
The National Assembly and the President both backed these bill, there seems to be no stopping this...
On September 12, 2025, the then-Korea Communications Commission (now the Broadcasting and Media Communications Commission) requested the blocking of internet sites under Korea's broadcasting laws.
Around January 2026, these measures were first applied to certain sites directly sharing adult contents.
On May 1, 2026, Cloudflare indicated that it had expanded these measures further, restricting access through its servers located in South Korea to a number of overseas adult websites and adult game sites. It was from this point that the measures became widely known to the public.
Some in the industry speculate that these actions may be preparatory in nature, ahead of the implementation of a new system under the Emergency Blocking of Illegal Copyright-Infringing Sites Act, which is set to take effect on May 11, 2026.
@Cloudflare appears to be deeply dissatisfied with Korea's demands for cooperation on site blocking measures. On October 30, 2025, Cloudflare submitted a digital trade barrier comment to the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), arguing that Korea's regulatory policies are inefficient and inconsistent with international norms. The submission included complaints that operating a filtering system against a blocking request list containing over 1.5 million URLs — with approximately 30,000 new additions each month from the Broadcasting and Media Communications Commission — imposes an excessive burden on CDN providers

Nebius has announced an investment of £1.7 billion to build out capacity in the UK with three new deployments of NVIDIA infrastructure.
The three new sites will deploy the latest generations of NVIDIA’s full-stack, end-to-end AI factory platform technology and combined will reach 65 MW when fully ramped up in 2027.
In addition to the capacity investment, Nebius is expanding its commercial and AI R&D hub in London and establishing local partnerships with universities and research institutions through Nebius Academy.
Arkady Volozh, founder and CEO of Nebius, said:
"The UK is one of the places where AI is being built, deployed, and adopted at the same time — by startups, by enterprises, and by the public sector. The work is happening here and the demand is here. And we are also here for the long run."

Not Microsoft, but OEMs are quietly causing Windows 11 problems, and you need to be careful with their drivers or pre-installed software.
Microsoft has spent 2026 cleaning up Windows 11: better update controls, fewer forced restarts, faster File Explorer work, Low Latency Profile, native WinUI work, driver quality improvements, and less pointless Copilot clutter.
Then HP shipped BIOS updates that pushed enterprise laptops into BitLocker recovery loops.
Dell followed with SupportAssist Remediation 5.5.16.0 causing BSODs roughly every 30 minutes on XPS, Alienware, Latitude, Precision, and other machines.
Most users don’t care whose fault it is.
If their HP laptop asks for a BitLocker key every reboot, they blame Windows. If their Dell crashes twice an hour, they blame Windows.
That’s the real problem with the PC ecosystem.
Microsoft can rebuild Windows 11 from the ground up, but OEM firmware, drivers, and bundled “support” tools can still destroy the experience overnight.

Chinese espionage across the European Union and its neighboring countries is revealing its massive scope as investigators connect the dots of recent infiltrations.
The May 20 arrest of a German couple of Chinese origin, who were stealing military-technology information from universities, exposes a coordinated, large-scale strategy.
Over the past two years, authorities have uncovered around 30 agents and collaborators operating on Beijing's behalf in Europe and its vicinity.
China routinely denies all espionage allegations, dismissing the accusations as slander.
German MEP Engin Eroglu notes that Beijing's intelligence strategy has become significantly more professional, broad, and diversified over the past decade.
Operations have expanded beyond traditional military and diplomatic secrets to target technological innovations, critical infrastructure, political decision-making, and networks of Chinese dissidents.
In March, the Italian government expelled eight Chinese nationals charged with surveilling and intimidating members of the diaspora.
This pattern of harassment gained prominence in 2022 when the Dutch government dismantled covert “clandestine police stations” in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
The NGO Safeguard Defenders subsequently reported that Beijing had established 102 unauthorized security offices across 53 countries.
Europe’s structural vulnerability is exacerbated by the sheer size of China's security workforce, which is estimated to be between 100,000 and 800,000 personnel.
Cutting-edge technology and political lobbying remain highly fertile ground for bribery and influence operations.
In March 2025, Belgian police raided the Brussels offices of Chinese tech giant Huawei and the homes of more than 20 lobbyists.
At least eight individuals, including a senior European Huawei executive, were charged in a scheme designed to prevent a European ban on Chinese 5G technology.
Traditional espionage targeting scientists and military personnel also continues to yield results in the age of artificial intelligence.
In Greece, Air Force Colonel Christos Flessas was arrested on February 5 on accusations of passing highly strategic information to China.
In another recent incident, two engineers operating as agents faced up to 15 years in prison after their massive satellite dish caused neighborhood internet outages and alerted authorities.
Security experts, like Henrietta Levin of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, argue that the EU's immediate priority must be securing NATO-critical infrastructure, including ports, power grids, and communications.
Concerns were previously raised in London when it was discovered that a building purchased by the Chinese government sat mere meters above the fiber-optic cables carrying the financial district's communications.
The European Union's ultimate challenge is no longer merely detecting these spies, but forging a common security shield without weakening its vital commercial ties.
