That makes sense i played both weekends of mw4 beta and it was amazing most fun I have had in call of duty in a while but with launch of this game to me they took 50 steps backwards from what they had in the beta and removed all good things i enjoyed about mw4 beta” if i don’t see any improvements this coming up week i definitely think I’m going to get a refund” and I never before have ever refunded a game.
I strongly disagree. SBMM and EOMM are major concerns for players across the Call of Duty community, especially those who are average, above average, or highly skilled. If matchmaking systems are factoring in performance across multiple titles, such as MWIII, BO6, BO7, and the MW4 beta, it raises legitimate questions about how players are being matched and whether their overall experience is being negatively affected. While the exact matchmaking formulas aren't publicly confirmed, players deserve transparency about how these systems work.
The issue isn't that players want to farm bots or dominate every lobby. The issue is that public matches should offer a balance between competition and enjoyment. Ranked Play already exists for players who want a consistently competitive environment with a structured progression system. Public matches should still have challenging gunfights, but they should also allow players to relax, experiment with different weapons, play with friends, and enjoy the game without feeling like every match is a Call of Duty Championship final.
This affects more than just highly skilled players. Casual players, average players, content creators, and competitive players can all have different concerns with the current matchmaking experience. When every lobby feels like a high-stakes tournament, it can make the game exhausting rather than enjoyable. Players shouldn't feel punished for improving their skills or performing well in previous matches.
Call of Duty needs to find a healthier balance between fair matchmaking, competitive integrity, and player enjoyment. Skill should matter, but it shouldn't come at the expense of having fun. The community isn't asking for every match to be easy; we're asking for variety, more transparency, and a multiplayer experience that gives players a reason to keep coming back. A game can be competitive without making every public match feel like ranked play. Listening to these concerns instead of dismissing them is how Call of Duty can improve for everyone.
@MistYo_ indeed giving it even 1 star would literally be me lying because i honestly haven’t had one enjoyable cod game in MW4 and in MW4 Beta I had more fun playing it” it honestly feels like they took 12 steps forward with the beta and full launch of multiplayer took 50 steps back”
@CallofDuty@Honeyybeebb@InfinityWard Can we get a different theme with shipment that is similar to Nuketown 2025 from bo7, look I ain’t trying to be rude or disrespectful or even negative but please stop this mw19 map design lot of us don’t like it” we want mw23 type map designs”
Ngl boys.. I’m struggling to have fun with the Sniping on Modern Warfare 4 rn :/
I genuinely feel like I’m holding a walrus. The snipers are so janky and clunky that it feels like my character is struggling just to hold the weapon. Follow-up shots are frustratingly difficult because of how much the scope and gun wobble around, aka the “rechamber accuracy”, a problem that’s already been addressed in the last three CODs. The slower ADS speeds only makes things worse.
I understand wanting to balance snipers, but there are ways to do that without ruining the overall feel of the class.
The “rechamber accuracy” stat needs to be removed entirely or toned down significantly. Learning to center your shots and stay consistent with a sniper while managing recoil is already a skill in itself. Having the gun, scope, and reticle shake all over the screen on top of that is excessive and makes sniping feel unnecessarily clunky and inconsistent. It doesn’t add meaningful balance.. it just makes the class frustrating to use
As for the Mosin, other than the rechamber accuracy it feels great. But 55 RPM? Why would I want to use a rifle that gets twice as many hitmarkers for only a 3 RPM difference compared to the Vulcan? Marksman rifles should stand out for their speed, with the trade-off being lower damage. That’s what gives them their identity.
Hope to see some changes soon
@iiKrysiSx They did in bo2, only bo3 & bo4 had no aim assist on snipers and i respect your opinion however in my opinion thats why there is mouse and keyboard” call of duty is not siege”
My SBMM experience feels heavily influenced by my stats across MW23, BO6, BO7, and the MW4 Beta. I’ve had multiple 100+ kill games and hit some really good clips across all three titles, so I understand that my performance history may contribute to the level of competition I’m facing.
During the MW4 Beta, I maintained 61% accuracy with the Vulcan, so I know my aim and accuracy are strong. That’s why it’s frustrating when I’m consistently hitting my sniper shots or aiming accurately with the best attachments on the Vulcan, yet I’m still experiencing hit-registration issues and no-regs.
The aim assist on regular guns also feels overtuned. How can players land over 150 damage to the arms, legs, or even feet and still get a one-tap, while I’m aiming higher and hitting my shots more accurately but not getting the elimination? Something doesn’t feel right, and hit registration seriously needs to be addressed.
Another major concern is the difference in aim assist between regular weapons and snipers. Regular weapons feel like they benefit from significantly stronger aim assist, giving players an advantage in gunfights, while snipers require greater precision. Year after year, it feels like regular-gun players receive more favorable treatment than sniper players when it comes to weapon balancing.
If regular-gun players are going to retain strong aim assist to make their weapons effective, then sniper players deserve the same level of consideration. If aim assist on regular weapons isn’t going to be reduced, then snipers need meaningful buffs to help close that gap. I’m not asking for snipers to be overpowered; I’m asking for a fair and balanced experience where both playstyles are respected and competitive.
Another issue is the inconsistency of the time-to-kill (TTK). Gunfights often feel unpredictable, making it difficult to understand how one engagement ends instantly while another takes significantly longer, even when the shots appear equally accurate. Combined with inconsistent hit registration, this makes gunfights frustrating and takes away from the competitive integrity of the game.
Call of Duty also needs higher tick-rate servers. I would like to see 170 tick-rate servers or higher to help improve the consistency and responsiveness of online matches. Better server performance, alongside reliable hit registration, would help make gunfights feel more accurate and consistent.
On top of that, MW4 needs better optimization on the base PS5. Performance issues, inconsistent hit registration, questionable weapon balancing, unpredictable TTK, and spawns that seem to have absolutely no logic make the overall experience frustrating.
I’m not saying this to brag about my stats or suggest other players aren’t skilled. I’m explaining why these issues stand out to me, especially considering my performance history and the accuracy I demonstrated during the beta.
Call of Duty needs more consistent hit registration, balanced aim assist across weapon types, fair sniper balancing, consistent TTK, logical spawns, better console optimization, and higher tick-rate servers.
Right now, it often feels like sniper players don’t have a fair chance in every gunfight. Skill should feel rewarding, regular-gun players and snipers should receive fair treatment, and accurately landing your shots should consistently matter. We shouldn’t have to choose between using the weapon class we enjoy and feeling like we don’t a fair chance of winning a engagement. Call of Duty needs to deliver a more consistent and balanced experience for everyone.
SBMM is honestly exhausting in MW4. I can’t lie to you guys, Multiplayer just isn’t fun right now. Sniping feels incredibly slow unless you’re using the marksman rifles, and every lobby feels like players are constantly holding hands, stacking together, and refusing to move around the map. Like, come on, this is Call of Duty. MOVE AROUND! 😡
I genuinely enjoyed both weekends of the MW4 Multiplayer Beta, so how did the full launch end up feeling worse than the beta? Why does Call of Duty seem to take 10 steps forward and 12 steps backward every single year?
The spawns feel completely illogical, hit registration is still an issue, and the constant camping and stacking are making matches miserable. Even OG Call of Duty players in my lobbies are fed up with how Multiplayer feels right now.
The game is genuinely exhausting to play, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to improve when SBMM makes every lobby feel like I’m competing in COD Champs. There’s a difference between playing against good players and feeling like every single match is a tournament.
Call of Duty needs to find a better balance. Multiplayer should reward skill, movement, and individual gunfights without making every match feel like a professional competition. I enjoyed the beta, and I want to enjoy the full game, but right now, the experience just isn’t there. We need to start moving forward instead of repeating the same mistakes every year. @CallofDuty@InfinityWard@CallofDutyCM@CODUpdates
