I highly advise against doing this. I’m an exercise scientist. This is WHY I am here.
I’ve learned this from Long Covid patients, clinicians and exercise physiologists.
In rare circumstances, some have bounced back… and some athletes have pushed through. But the overwhelming majority should not even try to do this.
Something strange happened to me recently. A person I'd been friendly with (or so I thought) asked me if I was going to an event. I replied "Nope, I am 95% bedbound lol (for the past two years) 🥲"
She blocked me and later said I had been "passive aggressive and pissy" towards her..... for simply stating that I couldn't go to the event bc I was bedbound??
I probably shouldn't have shared that much information with someone I didn't know that well -- I should've just said I was sick -- but I also don't see how my response was aggressive in any way.
Since I'm autistic I can't always see how I come across to people, and when my words are misinterpreted it causes me a lot of grief. Anyway I just thought this was weird and frustrating. 🤦♀️
it’s horrifying that a professor who is on the national panel and an expert on his own illness- with a spouse who is a doctor- died of that illness because doctors in the hospital did not understand the illness and did not listen to him.
Please send me your most graphic/harrowing #LongCovid pictures if you would be comfortable with having them used in such a campaign. Can include pictures of the physical damage COVID induces, or of the severity of your disability etc.
Connecticut Public Radio: 'Certain US populations are more likely to get long COVID. Yale researchers are examining why'
'Meanwhile, long COVID patients and advocates are frustrated by how much even experts don’t know about their condition.'

You guessed it.
“Largest United States fresh egg producer halts production at Texas plant after bird flu found in chickens.”
“Approximately 1.6 million laying hens, about 3.6% of its total flock, were destroyed after the infection, avian influenza.”

“There are a lot of clinical trials that are focused on more behavioural and on non-pharmaceutical interventions, and that is really not a priority to the patient community. It is a misunderstanding of how severe the condition is”
I’m so exhausted from hearing these stories without response from people who actually have the power to do something about it. And I don’t have an energy-limiting disease. Those with Long Covid have been all but expunged from the record. Today I was asked why I masked and I didn’t have the heart to explain it again. I wanted to share in his naive vision of the world…just for a moment.
While I did advocate for lots of change today… Tomorrow I’m turning a new leaf. I am just going to be 💯 honest and whatever comes out of my mouth is likely going to burn the ears of the listener.
I have no patience for ignorance any longer, when it comes to Covid. I know former Olympians who are flattened from Covid.
People are either going to join us outside the Matrix or die a sad death.
I think we need a very widespread social media campaign that shows people, visually, what Long COVID looks like. Like those pictures of ravaged lungs on cigarette boxes. Words do not stick. Pictures do.
I contend that many people who haven’t been protecting themselves from Covid might feel totally fine right now. Don’t mean there isn’t a lot of latent damage. And while Covid ain’t going away, the plan is still for forever infections so, protect yourself or covid will fuck you up
Could #Covid be targeting the amygdala to induce loss of appropriate fear/survival responses surrounding illness? This might explain why, in spite of a mountain of evidence and even personal experiences, people seem fearless regarding Covid, even pathologize precautions.
