“We have seen His Star, and are come to worship Him”
The Bible says the stars are for signs and that they declare the glory of God. They do the latter through the former. The glory of God is Jesus, the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world. This means that the movement of the stars points to the Christ!
When I was a child I believed that the "star" the Magi followed either magically manifested in front of them while they sat around stroking their epic beards, or that it came down from heaven, and physically led them. The truth is somehow more amazing still.
The wise men were so called because they were astrologers and sages. Before modern literacy rates wisdom was entrusted to a group of small, relatively affluent group of individuals, who by circumstances of their life or birth found themselves in the best position to be stewards of this knowledge.
In the course of a lifetime of gazing at the stars these men must have discovered an anomaly in the stars that fundamentally changed everything they thought they knew about it. They discovered the constellations actually pointed to the birth of the Messiah, and that the rest of the world was in the dark about it. These men didn't wish on a star, they prayed on one.
Then, on a leap of faith, they prepared to set out to follow this star; to where years of diligently study "for thus it is written by the prophet" led them to the birth site of Christ. So in the end, it was really their faith in God's Word, and their belief in His sovereignty over all creation, even the movement of the stars that brought them to be among the first to recognize and worship our Lord Jesus Christ.
The star was visible to them through faith!
"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy."
I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness. Ecclesiastes 7:25 (pictured: my angel helping me knowing the ends justify the means)
The chosen are not raised in safe places; they are refined in pressure zones where discernment is the difference between bondage and breakthrough. What you survived was Heaven's classroom, teaching you how to detect captivity before it wraps around you.
