Really proud of this crossstitch project I just finished for my boyfriend's birthday ๐ฟโจ๏ธ He's the fox: urban, cozy, charming and curious. I'm the crow: wild, observant, practically clever, drawn to shiny things
No. You didnโt read because you were dissociating or had ADHD; you read because books are a wonderful thing that enriched your life. Finding twisted motives for lifeโs greatest pleasures will make you miserable. We need to quit pathologizing the things that bring us joy.
@Lovandfear Buy land, build a house, set up infrastructure for a self-sufficient farm, adopt/foster children from poor rural areas nearby, learn to live a life of presence.
A woman needs three things from a man before she can fully soften.
Structure, so she is not living inside uncertainty.
Presence, so her emotions donโt make her feel abandoned.
Desire with a heart behind it, so his hunger for her feels safe instead of consuming.
That is the difference between a man who wants access to a woman and a man who knows how to hold one.
@Jeremyakee@silversarahj The feeling is real, because you ARE giving something up, but what you are giving up is control, not hope. And you are giving that control to someone (God) who loves you more and better than anyone ๐งก
I have no wish to escape reality into fantasy. The modern concept of reality is simply not true; it is fantasy of the dullest kind. My aim therefore is to escape to the truest reality and to try and discover where the fairies live.
What if we got married and built a quiet little life together? A garden in the backyard, strawberries ripening in the sun, homemade cakes cooling on the counter, tea growing cold while we lose track of time talking about the things that make us light up. What if we kept falling in love, day after day, in all the ordinary ways? What then? โจ
If you need some "the problem is bad anthropology" reading to hold you over till Mon, may I suggest...
1) Womenโs equality with men is not premised on our interchangeability with men.
2) Dependence is not a temporary aberration from natural autonomy

"The gospel does not promise you health. It does not promise you wealth. It does not promise you anything in this life except the person and work of Jesus. You may or may not get married; you may or may not have children"
