And who knows. Maybe bringing in Keith means he helps attract other FA’s like Saad. Have to wait and see. Think majority is good with Keith, just not the deal in itself.

After thinking about the Keith trade today, here’s a few thoughts: 1) Keith will provide this team leadership on/off ice that we’ve never had, 2) if he retires we’re left with cap savings, 3) he’s going to be in a different role, less minutes=larger impact, despite analytics 1/2

4) he’s taking up essentially Klefbom’s LTIR cap + buy out, 5) hopefully Larsson stays with a steady partner (think Hjarmlsson in CHI), 6) Jones was never more than a top 6 D, 7) I think Holland could’ve gotten more if he held out but we’re not NHL GM’s 2/2 #LetsGoOilers

@Oilersin4 @EdmontonOilers While I agree it would be a mismanagement of assets but it’s hard to qualify a guy who hasn’t produced much at a price tag of 3+mil. We already have lots of those. Don’t think other teams would qualify him at that price tag either. Hopefully they sign to a lesser contract.
