Do you have problems knowing/recollecting what the cardinal points (North, West, East, South) are called in the Yoruba Language? This is the easiest way to remember it:
North: ARÍWÁ. Remember, Northern-Nigeria is referred to as Arewaland.
South: GÚSÙ. No need attaching anything to that.
East: ILÀ OÒRÙN. The Sun rises from the East every morning. Ila- rise; appear. Oorun (sun).
WEST: IWỌ̀ OÒRÙN. The Sun Sets in the West every evening. IWỌ̀: rest-place.
