All our emergency services weep when one branch loses a colleague.
These amazing people serve their communities often without praise and face risks every day.
Our thoughts with family, friends and colleagues.
Sadly it’s the under resourced staff trying to juggle impossible and competing tasks whilst being asked to do more with less that could likely see this coming & are powerless to act.
All our key services need proper resourcing & not more cuts.

The invasion continues unabated:
Wishing all our amazing emergency service workers a safe & happy New Year.
Many of these are volunteers and many worked throughout the Christmas period.
Merry Christmas. Please remember those not with families but on duty or on call to respond to any call for help.
For every hour of Christmas Day our amazing 999 services are there to help.
We wish them a safe & peaceful duty.
HM Coastguard teams might not have cue cards, but actually, they’re on call at Christmas and every other day - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In an emergency at the coast, even at Christmas, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Today in 1981 brave souls went to sea & gave their lives in the service of others. There are so many paid or volunteers who put others first.

Today is Emergency Services Day (#999Day)
Thank you to the 2 million people who work and volunteer across the NHS and emergency services.
From the 250,000 first responders to those in roles behind the scenes, we are indebted to you for your sacrifices, courage and compassion.
Today we celebrate and thank the incredible people in our emergency services. Every day they show immense skill, courage and bravery – putting our lives before their own to keep us safe, and to be there for us if seriously ill or injured.
Diolch o galon ❤️

A stranded surfer was winched to safety by the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter after getting into trouble at Farr Bay in Scotland.
The man had been riding the water close to shore but had been caught in a rip current which was quickly carrying him out to sea.
Absolutely devastating news this morning from @NYorksPolice 😔
Police Constable Rosie Prior, killed in the line of duty whilst assisting members of the public who were involved in a Road Traffic Collision.
My thoughts are with everyone at this terrible time.
