🚨 IS 🇳🇬 NIGERIAN LEAGUE ENCOURAGING BRIBERY OF REFEREES? 🤔

DID YOU KNOW THAT: The Nigerian football league referees have not received their match allowances since February 2026.

The last they got paid was on matchday 25 of 38 last season.

They also stopped paying them from the round of 32 of the Nigerian FA Cup.

From my experience in the league, the last rounds of games in every major football competition in Nigeria is usually marred with corruption, politics and “PR”.
So basically by not paying these referees, the league itself encourages these referees to take bribe in order to survive. And being that the tournaments is in its concluding stages, many teams would be more willing to go to “any extent” to get points.. which includes trying to bribe referees. And not paying the referees salaries put them in a dicey situation as to whether to remain professional and go hungry or compromise and make some unruly money off the books.

The @thenff @NatSportsComm @officialABAT should kindly look into this and resolve the matter as soon as possible.

best response i’ve seen about this. yes, women need to support women’s sport. at the same time, we need to mention how this tournament was moved at the last minute, received very little marketing, had limited broadcast accessibility in some countries and fans were given almost no time to plan around the schedule change. two things can be true: support needs to improve and so does investment.

🔖 20th June - I said I was feeling like the Super Falcons wouldn't qualify for the World Cup. E be like madman talk.

With what I watched them play tonight, the chances of them not qualifying just increased a little. 📈

Ijamilusi loses the ball 6 times out of 10, Ihezuo couldn't even touch the ball, both of them combined had ZERO shots in that game and ZERO chances created. Ihezuo won ZERO duels out of 3 and completed ZERO dribbles out 2 attempted. She also had ZERO touches in the opposition box.

Esther created three chances. She was playing with two non-existent wingers. Justine Madugu doesn't know what he's doing at all.
