Position me, Oh Lord! Don’t let me waste this year investing my heart, time, and energy into places you didn’t send me. I’m seeking divine alignment over human activities this year. 🙏
"How I gained my first 500 engaged followers on X”
👇
I stopped chasing validation
I posted daily even when no one cared
I engaged other creators more than I promoted myself
“It’s not magic. It’s momentum.” 👌
I’ve been on X since 2010, back when nobody cared about impressions, and our mental health was still intact.
My routine was simple:
Linda Ikeji → Nairaland → X.
Just vibes. Real-time gist. Pure enjoyment. No pressure. No analytics. No “engagement rate”.
👇
Fast-forward to Nov/Dec 2025.
My first love, Forex - started showing me premium shege.
Losing streaks.
Holiday low volatility.
Charts moving like they were on Christmas break.
So I did what any wounded trader would do…
I ran to X for cruise, therapy, and distraction.
And that’s when I discovered something dangerous.
X pays creators. 🤔
My brain said:
“You’re already here. Charts are slow. Why not try your luck?”
That’s how enjoyment turned into chasing impressions.
Cruise turned into metrics.
Fun turned into pressure.
Yes, the numbers came.
Engagements grew.
But quietly, something else was shrinking, my peace.
I was spending more time refreshing X
and less time building my other hustles (online and offline).
The app I once used to relax was now draining me.
On January 3rd, I paused. Reflected. Prayed.
Pinned that prayer to my profile.
Then I did the hardest thing on this app:
I stepped back.
Lowered the energy.
Muted the noise.
Chose clarity over clout.
Now, volatility is creeping back into the charts.
And I’m returning to my first love, Forex - to iron out our issues and hopefully collect more wins this year 😌📈
2026 is teaching me early that not every money-making opportunity deserves your full heart.
So here’s my prayer for us all:
May we not waste this year investing our time, energy, and emotions in the wrong places.
May we choose purpose over pressure.
Peace over performance.
And alignment over applause.
A fruitful year to us all 🥂
#cheers
PS: “Have you ever chased money and lost peace? Be honest.” 🙏
