Some people have asked me if it’s appropriate to compare the September 24th brutal killings in Leh last year with Chinese repression in Tibet!
I don’t blame them for they don’t know what happened that day in Leh as there was a total internet blackout for weeks.
I understand the sufferings of Tibetan friends & have always opposed Chinese repression, but if you had seen what people in Leh went through on that unfortunate day, you might not disagree.

The BJP got singer Sangit Sarkar, who has performed campaign songs for the Bangladesh Awami League, to sing a song for its campaign. For this, he was paid ₹2 lakh (tax-free) - that's what the @ECISVEEP's records show.

On one hand, there is politics that labels Bengalis in this country as "Bangladeshi" or "Rohingya." On the other, a singer associated with Bangladesh's political campaign music is used for the @BJP4Bengal's campaign.

Remember the #Kolkata Olypub controversy ?

In January 2026, content creator Sayak Chakraborty alleged that he had been served beef instead of the mutton steak he had ordered. The video went viral, a poor Muslim waiter was arrested, and the incident quickly acquired a political and communal dimension. Olypub later called it an “unintentional error”.

Now comes an interesting entry in the #BJP’s election expenditure declaration to the ECI.

The document records a payment of Rs 2.5 lakh to a person named Sayak Chakraborty under “Advertisement and Propaganda” in March 2026**

The Olypub video was in January.
The BJP payment was in March.

Is it the same Sayak Chakraborty?

If it is, what was the Rs 2.5 lakh payment for?

Was it for advertising? Content creation? Campaign work? Something completely unrelated?

The expenditure declaration may not provide the answer but the coincidence of the name, the timing and the category certainly warrants a closer look.
