You can make the most obvious villain, the most on the nose monster, a clear and present example of the worst kind of human being who is just a collection of fatal character flaws, and the new right will identify with him and get angry when he dies a villain’s death
@Big_Bestmann Further, while I agree they are all strong, Homelander clearly wasn’t even using his speed, strength, or lasers on any level close to what he’s been seen capable of. This is no different than Noir, (who could fly and tank bullets) dying to a neck stab from a combat knife.
@Big_Bestmann Kimiko was irradiated to give her Soldier-Boys blast power, but nowhere is it established that it buffs her durability enough to survive Homelanders beams. For reference, Ryan who was a FAR weaker version of Homelander at the time was able to destroy Stormfront.
@Big_Bestmann This is the same guy we saw keep up with A-Train, fly to space and back in seconds, cut Kimiko in half, rip Web-Weaver in half no difficulty, kill Black Noir with a single punch, survive a battle with Soldier-boy and Butcher, take Marie down one blast.
@Big_Bestmann I don’t think it made the finale bad, but the whole show has been about how to take down Homelander considering he’s the most powerful supe there is. In season 1 he effortlessly cuts a plane in half with his heat vision, while in his most desperate moment he can’t beam Kimiko.
I don’t like to attack opinions but people saying “Homelander would never act like that” might actually be complete dipshits incapable of comprehension.
