North Huntsville residents now have a new front door to health care. Alabama A&M leaders joined Huntsville Hospital officials Tuesday to celebrate the opening of Physician Care North Huntsville, the first primary care facility in North Huntsville. The new clinic located at the AAMU Plaza at 4701 Meridian St. will provide primary care services to patients ages 18 and older. The 3,200-square-foot facility includes five exam rooms and one procedure room and will offer annual physicals, preventive screenings, immunizations, chronic disease management, employment and sports physicals, and sick visits.

A pivotal chapter in the history of AAMU was recently commemorated when the federal courthouse in Rome, Georgia, was officially renamed the Harold L. Murphy Federal Building and United States Courthouse in honor of the late U.S. District Judge Harold L. Murphy. Hosted by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Rome Bar Association and the Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, the ceremony celebrated Murphy's distinguished judicial career and his central role in overseeing Knight v.
