NEW: A federal court blocked key provisions of Texas’ extreme immigration enforcement law S.B. 4 (2023).
Immigration enforcement is exclusively a federal issue and not up to the states. Texas should stop wasting time trying to override the U.S. Constitution.
BREAKING: We and partners filed a class-action lawsuit to block provisions of Senate Bill 4 before May 15.
This law would allow police to arrest, detain, and remove people they suspect entered Texas without federal authorization.
S.B. 4 would separate families, fuel racial profiling, and pull Texas into a role the Constitution reserves for the federal government.
We, ACLU, and Texas Civil Rights Project are asking the court for emergency relief to stop it before harm begins.

BREAKING: A federal court has preliminarily blocked the Texas public school districts in our lawsuit from displaying the Ten Commandments in every classroom.

BREAKING: Without public input and before providing flood relief, the Texas House passed new congressional maps that further disenfranchise voters of color.
This is an affront to our right to vote. Texans should pick our politicians — not the other way around.

S.B. 4 is unconstitutional. Immigrants belong here.
